Overview

The Valleylab™ Exchange software update system is an innovative service that allows you to update the software in the ForceTriad™ energy platform remotely — in your facility, rather than shipping the energy platform back to Valleylab. This service will enable customers to benefit from current software updates as soon as they are available, with minimal downtime, and is the first remote-access update service in the electrosurgery field.

The Valleylab™ Exchange software update system uses intelligent device management (IDM) technology developed by a software company trusted by leading manufacturers of medical equipment to provide communication for service and updates for medical and diagnostic equipment in hospitals and labs worldwide.

The technology works within existing firewalls and security infrastructure. The only requirement to initiate the service is the installation of the Valleylab™ Exchange service agent software in the clinical engineer’s PC. When software updates become available, the clinical engineer is notified by e-mail. To complete the update each ForceTriad™ energy platform is simply connected to the service PC for the duration of the download, and then quickly returned to the O.R. with enhanced, up-to-date software.
